Binchois Consort

On 20th April, the Binchois Consort performed at the newly refurbished grade II* listed Drapers' Hall, Coventry. The performance was connected with a conference in the same venue, 'Celebrations, Communities and Performances' with a number of speakers outlining Coventry's unique contribution to music, drama and ceremonial occasions from the 15th to the 17th centuries. The Binchois Consort performed a number of pieces connected with medieval Coventry including the 'Caput Mass' a fragment of which survives in the Coventry archives. Another was the 'Coventry Carol', from the Shearman and Taylor's mystery play.
